Cardiologists from three countries who meet, publish and refer across borders — not just on paper.
WMSC was founded by cardiologists from Morocco, Spain and Portugal who work the same Mediterranean coast and treat the same patients. The society exists to put them in the same room — once a year at the congress, and in working groups between editions — to compare cases, agree on protocols and train the next generation across the Strait of Gibraltar.
Cardiologists from three countries who meet, publish and refer across borders — not just on paper.
Sessions led by the working clinicians and researchers shaping practice today.
Hands-on workshops, case discussions and shared protocols — the training that doesn't fit in journals.
Pooling cases, protocols and outcomes from Tangier to Lisbon. What your unit treats matters to ours.

“We invite you to participate in the construction of a modern, dynamic and forward-looking Mediterranean cardiology community.”
Dear colleagues, dear partners, it is with great pleasure and deep conviction that I have the honour of announcing the creation of the West Mediterranean Society of Cardiology (WMSC), a new scientific society dedicated to the promotion of cardiology and cardiovascular sciences in the western Mediterranean region.
Based in Tangier, a crossroads city between Europe and Africa and a natural gateway to the Mediterranean, our Society was founded in a region of Morocco experiencing exceptional economic, industrial and human development.
The WMSC is first and foremost a platform for collective work, communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals involved in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Its mission is to promote continuing medical education in cardiology through scientific meetings, practical workshops, seminars, conferences and educational programmes throughout the year.
Our approach is resolutely multidisciplinary, open to every specialty and profession contributing to cardiovascular health, from cardiology and surgery to intensive care, imaging, biology, nursing and the wider care pathway.
The Society will organise an Annual Mediterranean Congress of Cardiology, a major scientific event for sharing knowledge, disseminating innovation and developing national and international collaborations.
True to the values of cooperation, dialogue and good neighbourliness that characterise the Mediterranean region, WMSC aspires to serve as a genuine cardiological bridge across the Strait of Gibraltar.
Today’s cardiovascular challenges require enhanced cooperation, an open vision and a collective mobilisation of expertise. WMSC intends to contribute to that ambition by building a solid, innovative and sustainable scientific network.
Yours sincerely,
Dr ABADI A.

A rapidly growing cardiology scene and a Mediterranean hub between schools of practice.
